FC 46 - Digital Input List (LMM Modules)

The digital input list function code allows a logic master module to accept up to eight inputs from a different logic master module located in the same process control unit (PCU). It provides the corresponding outputs for use within that logic master module. This block uses eight consecutive addresses. Function code 46 blocks are exception reports. Multi-function controllers and multi-function processors use function code 64.

To insure that the signals successfully transfer across the module bus, the digital signal generates a point quality flag. To test the quality of the signal, include a function code 31 (test quality) block in the configuration. The quality of the signal cannot be determined by any other type of block. The output of the test quality block can be used as an input to other digital processing blocks to provide signal quality information.

Use function code 69 to test the alarm associated with the analog input/loop function block.

NOTE: This function can only be used for data transfer between similar modules. An NLMM01 module cannot request data from an IMLMM02 module or vice versa.
